Boulevard Records presents the release of Manuel Esparza's Cruising Down The Boulevard featuring That's Firme. A collection of Chicano gems; four self penned traxs, Cried Enough For You, Alone Without You, That's Firme, title trax Cruising Down The Boulevard, written by Manuel Esparza aka "Spookey." This release CDTB features 3-traxs written and originally recorded by Chicano stars Sunny Ozuna of Sunny and the Sunliners, Gabriel Lopez, Jr., of Jr. and the Preludes and Rudy Martinez aka Question Mark of ? Mark and the Mysterians. Those gems are Runaway, Do You Remember and 96 Tears. CDTB features the Spanish classic Prefedia, rewritten in it's original music; with English lyrics by Manuel Esparza. The song here is entitled Hey Love! All selections are arrangements of great musical genius Harry Scorozo.

Manuel was born Manuel Lopez Esparza on October 5th, in Orange County, raised in El Modena,
at age of 13, with his parents Romaldo and Mary Esparza moved to Santa Ana. Manuel makes his home in the City of Orange.

Spookey's musical inspirations; Diana Ross, The Supremes, Mary Wells, Martha Reeves, Smokey Robinson, and Berry Gordy. Naming Little Thee Midniters, Little Willie G, Donnie Elbert, Jimmy Reed, Brenton Wood, Barbara Lewis, Tammi Terrell, as his favorite all time artists. Other artists he enjoys are The Marvelettes, Brenda Holloway, Kim Weston, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Gene Chandler, Barbara Lynn, Ralfi Pagan, Hank Castro, Ruth Brown, Sunny Ozuna.

Manuel cites Ken and Regina Jones' Soul Magazine as a major influence in becoming publisher of his own publication Orange County's No.#1 Chicano Magazine! CDTB is Manuel's 1st release on his own label Blvd. Records, he is currently in the studio recording a follow up What's Going Down as well as releasing a Christian cd. Manuel is writing a book on Motown legend Mary Wells; he was Mary's fan club president and friend.
